How to use Weekly Holiday Pay Calculator

Calculates Korean weekly holiday allowance from the hourly wage and weekly contractual hours, with weekly and monthly pay including it.

Workers with 15 or more contractual hours who attend all scheduled days earn (weekly hours ÷ 40, at most 1) × 8 hours; results are compared with the 2026 minimum wage of KRW 10,320.

  • Enter the hourly wage or use the minimum wage button.
  • Enter the weekly contractual hours and working days from the employment contract.
  • Review the weekly holiday allowance, weekly pay, monthly equivalent and formula.

Useful for

  • Checking monthly part-time pay including the weekly holiday allowance
  • Comparing an employer's calculation with the payslip

Limits and checks

  • Do not include overtime in contractual hours; the allowance follows agreed hours.
  • Even at 40 or more hours a week, the paid holiday is capped at eight hours.

Worked example

Four hours a day, five days a week

Hourly wage: 10,320
Weekly contractual hours: 20
Working days per week: 5

At 15 or more hours the allowance applies.

Weekly holiday allowance

Weekly holiday allowance: 41,280 (4 hours)
Weekly pay: 247,680
Monthly equivalent: 1,076,228

Amounts are before tax and insurance deductions.

Common issues

The allowance is zero at 15 hours a week

Make sure the contractual hours are not below 15; 14.5 hours does not qualify.

The monthly figure differs from the calendar

Monthly pay uses an average of 4.345 weeks. A specific month can differ with its working days.

How to interpret the result

Confirm that holiday hours match the contractual hours.

FAQ

What is the allowance for 20 hours a week?

Holiday hours are 20 ÷ 40 × 8 = 4, so at KRW 10,320 per hour it is 41,280 a week, about 179,000 a month on average.

What if I miss a day?

If you do not attend every scheduled day that week, no allowance arises for that week. Lateness or leaving early is not an absence.

Do workplaces with fewer than five employees pay it?

Yes. The allowance applies to anyone working 15 or more hours regardless of size; only overtime and night premiums are exempt under five employees.
